After signing with LSU as a 4-star receiver in the 2017 class, Mannie Netherly eventually shifted over to the defensive side of the ball.

However, even at defensive back, he had trouble getting on the field for the Tigers in 2018, recording only three tackles in limited action.

Now, ahead of his junior season, Netherly is exploring his other options. Per a report from AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, Netherly’s name has been entered in the NCAA transfer portal:

This doesn’t mean he’s leaving Baton Rouge, necessarily. Rather, it just means teams can now contact him about transferring.

Will he end up leaving Baton Rouge? We don’t know for sure yet, but there’s sure to be a lot of interest in the versatile athlete.
