Every March Madness buzzer beater has two sides — the team that is overjoyed to have won the game and the team that just had its heart ripped out.

On Saturday, LSU was the former and Maryland was the latter, as the Tigers beat the Terrapins on a last-second layup by Tremont Waters.

After the game, Maryland star Jalen Smith was inconsolable, as you can see in the heart-breaking video below:

Smith hit a huge three-pointer to tie the game at 67-67, but it wasn’t enough, as the Tigers scored on the next possession for the victory.

Smith, a freshman, had 15 points and eight rebounds in the loss. He has a bright future, but this loss will sting for a long time to come.
