There’s apparently a new saying coming to Auburn following the team’s run to the Final Four. “Draining Threes and Rolling Trees” is something that you’ll probably hear frequently in the coming days if you haven’t already.
That’s because the school has filed that slogan as an official trademark, likely for memorabilia to be sold to Tiger fans eager to celebrate the school’s run to Minneapolis.
In the video below, trademark attorney Josh Gerben explains Auburn’s decision. Based on his video, he’s not very familiar with Auburn or the tradition of rolling Toomer’s Corner.
Auburn University has filed a trademark application for DRAINING THREES AND ROLLING TREES.
The filing was made with the USPTO on March 31st.
