It’s pretty rare for an NFL franchise to trade up into the top 10 of a draft but when it does happen, more often than not, that move is made to select a franchise quarterback. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, that’s the type of value some league teams see in Alabama’s Quinnen Williams.

The latest visit for the Outland Trophy award winner leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft came as Williams visited the New York Giants. Considering the Giants hold the No. 6 overall selection in the draft, it doesn’t make much sense for the franchise to host a prospect that appears to be a lock as a top-five pick. However, the Giants also have the 17th overall pick in the draft, which should be enough to propel the team into the top five in the upcoming draft with a potential trade up to select Williams.

During a recent segment on the NFL Network, Rapoport shared information that he’s hearing around the league that Williams is the rare non-quarterback prospect worth trading up into the top five to acquire.
