Coming out of high school in Ohio, OLB Xavier Peters was a 4-star recruit. He ended up committing to Florida State, where he spent the 2018 season.

In that one season in Tallahassee, he only appeared in two games, recording only one tackle. However, he did keep his redshirt intact.

Now, he’s decided to transfer, and he’ll be playing closer to home in 2019. Per 247Sports reporter Steve Wiltfong, Peters has announced he’ll transfer to Kentucky. Peters confirmed the news on Twitter shortly thereafter:

That’s a big addition for Mark Stoops and the Kentucky defense, but Peters may end up having to sit out the 2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Still, he has plenty of eligibility left, so we’ll see if he can become the next Kentucky standout linebacker when he’s able to play again.
