There’s a new opening in Texas A&M’s quarterback room as redshirt freshman Jagger LaRoe has announced he is leaving the Aggie program.

After not seeing the field last season for the Aggies, the former Heritage High School and Colleyville native must believe his path to the field is clearer up north as LaRoe has announced he will continue his playing career at Ohio State. LaRoe will be eligible immediately for the Buckeyes next season as the NCAA recently changed its transfer rules when it comes to walk-on players. Previously, walk-ons had to sit out after transferring.

Following this move, the Aggies are down to six quarterbacks according to the team’s official roster.

LaRoe made his announcement by posting the following message on Twitter:

“Thank you to everyone at Aggieland for making everything feel like home. I’ve loved Texas A&M, my teammates (gonna miss you guys), and Aggie football (especially the 12th Man). I learned a lot from Coach Fisher and Coach Dickey.

“But that chapter is now over.

“Now, it’s my privilege to join a team and program with the richest heritage in college football, THE Ohio State University Buckeyes, and Buckeye Nation. I want to thank Coach Day and Coach Yurcic for your confidence in me. To my new Buckeye teammates, I’m ready to get to work.”
