One of the top overall prospects in the 2020 recruiting cycle just announced his decision — he’s committed to Kentucky.

Coming off a historic 10-win season on the field, Mark Stoops’ program is now capitalizing on that momentum by landing a commitment from four-star Michigan lineman Justin Rogers, who announced his decision on Monday. Rogers pledged to the Wildcats over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Michigan. Rogers went on a spring tour which took him to Knoxville, Lexington and Athens leading up to his decision but it was Kentucky that won out in the end despite the University of Georgia being his latest visit.

Rogers made his decision during a live ceremony at his Oak Park High School.

The 6-foot-2, 311-pound Rogers could play either side of the ball at the next level, as he’s been recruited as both an offensive and defensive lineman. The Oak Park High School product is currently rated as the No. 30 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 1 offensive guard by 247Sports Composite Rankings. If he follows through with his commitment and signs with Kentucky, he will be the highest-rated prospect to sign with the school during Stoops’ entire tenure — unless the Wildcats land a prospect rated higher than him by the time the 2020 recruiting class signs.

Following this news, Kentucky’s 2020 recruiting class jumps all the way up to No. 32 nationally with only five players currently committed to the class.
