The South Carolina Gamecocks and coach Frank Martin have been anxiously awaiting the end of the 2019 NBA Draft process.

That’s because talented freshman G A.J. Lawson was going through the pre-draft process, but he has now reached a final decision.

As you can see below, the rising sophomore announced via Twitter that he will return to school for the 2019-20 season:

Lawson appeared in 29 games in 2018-19, starting 28 of them. He averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He also shot a strong 35.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

This is great news for the Gamecocks, who will benefit from having the talented scorer back in Columbia for at least one more year.
