Saturday night should have been a great one for the Mississippi State Bulldogs after they defeated Stanford 6-2 in Game 1 of the Starkville super regional.

However, after the game, all thoughts were with junior LHP Jack Eagan, who was transported to the hospital during the seventh inning, causing a delay.

Per the Mississippi State Twitter account, Eagan suffered “a non-athletic medical event.” He was then taken to a hospital in the area:

After the game, coach Chris Lemonis was understandably emotional talking about Eagan and what he means to the team:

Fortunately, on Sunday morning, the Bulldogs’ Twitter account shared a positive update on Eagan’s health, saying he’s out of the hospital and will be cheering his teammates on from the dugout for Game 2 on Sunday night:

Hopefully this was a one-off incident and whatever happened to Eagan is done. His teammates will certainly be happy to see him in the dugout on Sunday night.
