When it comes to developing as a defensive back, there may not be two better coaches to learn from than Nick Saban or Kirby Smart. Taking that into consideration, it was no surprise to see the nation’s top cornerback prospect have Alabama and Georgia among his finalists as was the case on Thursday when Scottsdale, Ariz., native Kelee Ringo released his top five list.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Ringo is rated as the nation’s No. 9 overall prospect and the No. 1 cornerback in the nation for the 2020 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Ringo has already been announced as an All-American Bowl participant for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

On Thursday, Ringo announced Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State and Oregon as the top five finalists for his services. At this point, it’s common to see Alabama and Georgia battling it out for elite recruits and Ringo’s recruiting appears to be the next in a long line of battles away from the field between Saban and Smart.
