The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry took on new meaning for the Fromm family on Dec. 19, 2018 when Tyler signed with the Auburn Tigers, prominent rivals of brother Jake’s Georgia Bulldogs.

It’s no surprise that during SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama, Jake was asked about facing Tyler and the Tigers.

“Yeah, it’s going to be awesome,” Fromm said. It might be a little tough for everyone else in the family. “It’s going to be awesome, especially for me and Tyler, before the game, during the game and especially after the game. It’s going to be a special moment for us, one our family can kind of cherish forever.”

While it sounds like Jake is looking forward to the Nov. 16 meeting, he admitted it was tough to see Tyler go to a Bulldog rival.

“It was tough,” Jake said, per AL.com’s Tom Green. “For us, it’s ‘hey, where can you go in and what place really fits you best?’ For him, he thought it was there, and it was great for out family and him. I’m excited he’s there and excited he’s ready to go play football.”

Tyler was a 3-star tight end recruit in the class of 2019. The SEC teams to offer him were Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
