Tough news to share from Fayetteville as it appears redshirt freshman Noah Gatlin has been lost for the season.

The redshirt freshman appeared in four games for the Razorbacks last season, starting two contests. The young lineman gave up only two sacks in his collegiate debut after playing 193 snaps for the team last fall. Gatlin was battling it out to potentially start at right tackle this season for the Razorbacks heading into training camp but those plans will have to be put on hold, as a family member is reporting that Gatlin has torn his ACL.

This news comes after Gatlin sat out practice on Saturday after going down at practice on Friday. This message was posted on FaceBook by one of Gatlin’s family members:

“I don’t normally ask on FB, but we need all of our family & friends to help pray for Noah for a smooth surgery, speedy healing & recovery process after suffering an ACL tear & cartilage damage in their first practice yesterday. After little sleep & tears shed last night, MRI this morning, and a long day today, we are very blessed & optimistic knowing God’s got this and Noah will be back stronger than ever next year. Thank you so much to all that have already gotten word & reached out-it means the absolute world to us and will assist Noah through this bump in the road…He’s so tough, amazes us all & remains in good spirits! Jeremiah 29:11”

Gatlin was a three-star member of Arkansas’ 2018 recruiting class and a native of Jonesboro, Ark.
