Bruce Pearl has done a tremendous job leading the Auburn men’s basketball program, and he was rewarded with a five-year contract extension back in April, just after the Tigers’ first Final Four appearance.
On Friday, Auburn released the full details of Pearl’s new contract (h/t AL.com). He will be paid a base annual salary of $250,000, paid in equal monthly installments. He’ll also earn $1.775 million each in endorsement rights and appearance fees, also paid in equal monthly installments. Those will increase by $62,500 during each year of the contract.
Here’s a breakdown of how much Pearl will make in each of the five seasons of the contract:
2019-20: $3.8 million
2020-21: $3.925 million
2021-22: $4.05 million
2022-23: $4.175 million
2023-24: $4.3 million
There are also the following performance bonuses for each season of his contract:
Regular-season SEC title: $100,000
SEC tournament title: $50,000
SEC Coach of the Year Award: $50,000
National Coach of the Year honors: $50,000
NCAA tournament berth: $50,000
Sweet 16 appearance: $50,000
Elite Eight appearance: $100,000
Final Four appearance: $100,000
National championship: $200,000
It was Pearl’s second new contract extension in two years, as he also had received one at the end of the 2018-19 season after he guided Auburn to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2003.
Over five seasons leading the Tigers, Pearl is 100-72, which includes going 56-18 in the past two seasons.
