Thankfully, Missouri’s offense avoided disaster coming out of the Troy game. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the team’s improving defense.

The good news for the Tigers came when Kelly Bryant’s injury was ruled a simple knee sprain. The senior quarterback is not expected to be limited for Missouri’s upcoming home game against Ole Miss, according to the school.

When it comes to senior linebacker Cale Garrett, the news was not good as the team’s outstanding defender will require surgery to repair a torn pectoral tendon. This injury is expected to sideline Garrett for the remainder of the season. This is devastating news for arguably the SEC’s best linebacker as Garrett was playing at an unmatched level in Columbia.

Without Garrett in the lineup, look for Bryant and the Missouri offense to pick up the pace in league play as Missouri’s defense is down a key contributor moving forward.

On the season, Bryant has completed 94 of 145 passes for 1,246 yards with 11 touchdowns and only three interceptions. The senior has also rushed for 123 yards and another score.
