Much like Alabama and the New England Patriots trading off years in which they win a title (never winning in the same year), the Georgia Bulldogs also have a connection to the Atlanta Braves.

This one doesn’t involve titles, though. Instead, Georgia has always lost its next game when the Braves have been eliminated from the playoffs this decade.

As you can see below, each time the Braves have been eliminated in the playoffs, dating back to 2012, Georgia has lost its very next game:

The simple solution here would seem to be for the Braves to just not lose, going all the way to the World Series. Or, you know, missing the postseason altogether. That worked out pretty well for the Bulldogs in 2017.

Of course, this is just a coincidence, but it is pretty crazy when you look at it.
