Joe Burrow and LSU took care of business against Auburn Saturday 23-20.

That sets up a likely No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown against Alabama, with LSU having a strong resume to jump Alabama Sunday in the AP Poll.

Both the Crimson Tide and Tigers have a bye week before the November 9 matchup. Burrow was asked Saturday following the win over Auburn how this year feels different going into the Alabama game when compared to last year’s 29-0 loss.

“I’ll have to get in the film room and see,” Burrow said while holding back a smile. “I’m focussed on celebrating this win right now. It’s a top 10 win over a great football team. So, we’re going to celebrate this one for a while.”

When pressed further, Burrow opened up a little bit more.

“I think we’re a much better football team than last year,” Burrow said. “I think we’re more explosive. I think our defense is really starting to click on all cylinders. I’m excited to get back to practice this week and fine-tune some things we’ve been not very good at the last two weeks.”

Ed Orgeron brought in Joe Brady to change the Tigers’ passing game, and so far, it’s been dynamic, led by Burrow.

LSU will take on Alabama November 9 at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports.
