The result was to be expected, but that doesn’t ease any disappointment or frustration. Arkansas fell to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the SEC after a 48-7 loss at No. 1 Alabama.

In his postgame press conference, Razorbacks coach Chad Morris discussed UA’s miscues as well as the play of John Stephen Jones, Rakeem Boyd and TE Cheyenne O’Grady’s new record.

Here are the highlights of what Morris told reporters in Tuscaloosa in his postgame press conference:

  • Arkansas made too many mistakes against a good team. Razorbacks need to do a better job of protecting the ball.
  • On QB John Stephen Jones: Thought he gave Hogs a spark. The moment wasn’t too big for him.
  • Jones got in some first-team reps as coaches weren’t sure about Ben Hicks’ status.
  • On TE Cheyenne O’Grady’s TD record: “That’s obviously a huge milestone for him. It was great to see that. He’s been very much a playmaker for us and we’ve got to do a great job of trying to get the ball to him.”
  • On RB Rakeem Boyd: “He continues to run hard, and there are some creases he hit and was able to run with.”
  • “It’s about getting into the month of November and getting better.”

Morris hasn’t done well as a head coach in November (3-13), but UA will hope to turn it around against Mississippi State in Week 10.
