Georgia may have had to hold on but a win is a win and the Bulldogs improved to 10-1 on the season by defeating Texas A&M 19-13 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs’ potential victory was put into question after Kellen Mond led the Aggies on an impressive touchdown drive midway in the fourth quarter but Georgia’s defense stood up one final time to close out the quarter and held Texas A&M’s offense with the game on the line.

Georgia’s offense also deserves credit for closing the game out, as D’Andre Swift would not be denied and finished the game with some tough yardage that sealed the win for the Bulldogs.

Following the game, Kirby Smart shared his thoughts on his team’s performance on Senior Day:

“Well, with this group, it’s the way they should go out,” Smart answered. “Look at this crowd, the lights, unbelievable atmosphere. It’s created because of guys like (J.R. Reed), who care about this university, that give back — every day he goes out on the field and gives it everything he has. He’s a hell of a leader.”

According to Smart, his team has hit a bit of a wall to finish the season but they keep fighting down the stretch.

“We are tired man, emotionally, physically, but our guys kept grinding,” he added.

Finally, on Swift, the Georgia coach feels confident with the running back having the ball with the game on the line.

“He wants the ball (with the game on the line),” Smart finished.

Georgia finishes the regular season next weekend at Georgia Tech before heading to the 2019 SEC Championship Game.
