LSU fans are a passionate bunch. Where else would you see thousands of people line up to get a piece of the sod that lay on the stadium’s ground for a number of years?

The sod, as expected, went fast. Now we know what one big Tigers fan, in particular, did with his haul.

Cat Glueck lost his father several years ago, so to honor his memory, he laid two portions of sod from Tiger Stadium over the grave at the Louisiana cemetery where his father is buried.

“I’m sad you weren’t here to watch (this season), but I got you the next best thing,” Glueck posted to Facebook, according to Baton Rouge ABC affiliate WBRZ. “Now you can rest under Tiger Stadium until the end of time!”

The act got the attention of Sports Illustrated college football writer Ross Dellinger, who posted a screenshot of the story to his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Glueck will undoubtedly be watching the SEC Championship game on Saturday, hoping that the Tigers can continue their undefeated season and claim its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.
