The CBS cameras captured a special moment at Mercedes-Benz Stadium after No. 2 LSU (13-0) won the SEC Championship with a 37-10 victory over No. 4 Georgia.

Tigers coach Ed Orgeron handed the game ball to Joe Burrow, but the QB declined, giving it back to his coach.

“He deserves it,” Burrow said of the moving gesture on the CBS broadcast. “He’s done so much for the state, and so much for this university. If you don’t want to fight for that guy, there’s something wrong with you.”

Burrow entered Saturday the heavy Heisman Trophy favorite and locked it up with a highlight-filled MVP performance (28-of-38 passing, 349 yards, 4 TDs; 11 rushes, 41 yards).

Now that he’s won his first conference championship, Orgeron is up to 38-9 in his LSU tenure. Orgeron will have the opportunity to add at least one more W to that mark in the 2019 campaign.
