While Georgia is currently loaded with talent at the linebacker position, the Dawgs could soon be losing one of the team’s talented prospects to transfer.

Redshirt sophomore Robert Beal has entered the NCAA transfer portal as Matt Zenitz of AL.com was the first to report.

Keep in mind entering the transfer portal does not guarantee a player is leaving a program but it is the first step toward doing so. Now coaches from other programs will be permitted to reach out and discuss potential transfers to their school.

Beal signed with Georgia out of Peachtree Ridge High School in the 2017 recruiting cycle and was an Under Armour All-American following an outstanding prep career. Beal was rated as a top 150 overall prospect in the nation by 247Sports Composite and was rated as a five-star recruit by ESPN. Interestingly enough, he was recruited to Georgia by current Tennessee linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer and recruited to Alabama by Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Beal appeared in 11 games for Georgia as a freshman but appeared in only five games this season for the Dawgs.
