One of the big early winners of the Early Signing Period has been Tennessee as the Volunteers continue to land key targets and the biggest one yet just popped as Jeremy Pruitt’s program landed a recruit they had been targetting since they arrived on Rocky Top.

During a ceremony at his Knoxville Catholic High School, Tyler Baron announced his commitment to Tennessee over Kentucky and Ohio State. Baron will be joined his Knoxville Catholic High School Cooper Mays as signees headed to Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 252-pound Baron rates as the nation’s No. 112 overall prospect and the No. 5 strongside defensive end in the nation by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Tennessee now holds commitments from 22 overall prospects with 16 of those having signed their National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

Tennessee’s class currently ranks as one of the top 20 in the nation for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

During his outstanding senior season for Knoxville Catholic High School, Baron recorded 103 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, nine sacks and four forced fumbles.
