Xavier McKinney’s time in Tuscaloosa is over.

Alabama’s All-American safety declared early for the 2020 NFL Draft on Sunday after two seasons of starting in Nick Saban’s secondary.

Following his latest season for the Crimson Tide, McKinney was named First-Team All-SEC by the league’s coaches and was named as an All-American by the AFCA, The Sporting News, the Walter Camp organization, the Associated Press and Pro Football Focus.

The junior defensive back led Alabama with 95 total tackles this season and added another three sacks and three interceptions for the Tide’s defense this fall. He finishes his Alabama career with 175 tackles and five interceptions.

According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, McKinney received a first-round grade from the NFL’s Draft Advisory Board. If that information is accurate, it makes sense that McKinney would capitalize on his current value leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.
