If you’ve been paying attention to the news lately, you know Tennessee is on an epic roll in 2020. Well, that roll continues on heading into the weekend.

The latest bit of good news on Rocky Top comes from All-SEC kicker Brent Cimaglia who announced he will return for his final season in 2020.

Cimaglia was named Second-Team All-SEC following the 2019 season by the league’s coaches after converting 23 of 27 field goal attempts and all 35 of his extra point attempts.

He announced the news with the following statement:

“After many thoughts and prayers, I have decided not to leave school early. Before I can pursue other dreams, I want to finish out living this one. The past three years at the University of Tennessee have been amazing! This past week, I have had a lot of people come up to me asking whether I was going to enter the draft portal and leave the university. I just want to address this and say that I will be returning to my senior year at the University of Tennessee, and I am going to finish what I started. This team has unfinished business, and we are going to make Tennessee grow even more. I just want to say thank you to the coaching staff, my teammates, my family, all of Vol Nation and God for making this dream a reality.”

Cimaglia’s decision comes a day after All-SEC offensive lineman Trey Smith also decided to stay at Tennessee for his senior season and former Freshman All-American offensive lineman Cade Mays transferred from Georgia to Rocky Top.
