Alabama has officially signed the nation’s top prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports.

If you missed the news, 247Sports updated its individual prospect ratings for the final time on Tuesday and Alabama’s new signal-caller from California landed at the very top of the list.

The 5-foot-11, 183-pound native of Santa Ana, Ca., and Mater Dei High School product was already rated as a five-star prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings but now Crimson Tide fans can boast that Nick Saban’s program landed the perfect high school recruit to potentially replace Tua Tagovailoa in the lineup next fall.

Young has already enrolled at Alabama and will be participating in spring football in Tuscaloosa after competing in the All-American Bowl High School Game.

After the California native signed with Alabama, Saban offered these comments on his latest QB signee.

“I just absolutely love the guy. I love his character. He’s got a great family. He’s got all the right stuff, and I think that’s really important in the quarterback position,” Saban said of Young. “You’ve heard me say this many times before – if you play quarterback, it’s hard to play the position if the people around you don’t play well, so having great leadership qualities can contribute to that. I think Bryce certainly possesses those qualities.”

Safe to say the recruiting evaluators at 247Sports agree with Coach Saban.
