For the time being, Georgia has the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

That could change by the time the dust settles leading up to next week’s National Signing Day, which is on Wednesday, Feb. 5, but for now, Dawg Nation holds bragging rights over Alabama and Clemson in the race for the nation’s best recruiting class.

The Bulldogs jumped Alabama after landing a commitment from in-state running back Daijun Edwards of Colquitt County High School. The 5-foot-10, 201-pound Edwards is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 21 running back nationally by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Edwards took an official visit to Athens last weekend.

Edwards announced his decision to commit to the G on Thursday.

After picking up Edwards’ commitment, has a total of 22 prospects set to join Smart’s program in this recruiting cycle — which includes six enrollees, 13 recruits that have already signed and three commits. The Bulldogs also have three players set to join the program via transfer.

The only running back Georgia signed during the Early Signing Period was California native Kendall Milton.
