The 2020 NFL Draft doesn’t start until Thursday, April 23 but that isn’t going to stop the early projections from flowing from the army of draft experts out there.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. is the longest-running draft expert and he’s no exception when it comes to firing out his takes as the draft guru recently offered up his early projections for former Alabama teammates Tua Tagovailoa and Jerry Jeudy.

During a recent teleconference, Kiper was asked to share his thoughts on Tagovailoa’s stock as the former Alabama quarterback continues to rehab following his hip injury suffered against Mississippi State on Nov. 16 that prematurely ended the quarterback’s college career. While Tagovailoa continues to receive promising updates when it comes to his hip recovery, Kiper believes the quarterback’s draft slot will be determined in the upcoming NFL combine.

“Whether he’s the third, fourth pick in the draft … or he goes to Miami at five, the Chargers at six or he drops down to Indianapolis at 13 is going to be determined by the medical,” Kiper said, according to Charlie Potter of 247Sports. “I think he goes in the top five.”

If Tagovailoa does fall to No. 13 overall after receiving bad medical news at the combine, Kiper believes the former Alabama signal-caller has a chance to be selected after his former teammate Jerry Jeudy. Kiper shared on the teleconference that he believes that Jeudy will be selected No. 12 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders.

That selection would likely cause massive celebration on The Strip, as the 2020 NFL Draft is being held in Las Vegas with thousands of Raiders fans expected to be in attendance to watch the draft.
