Scooby Carter has had a busy offseason in Tuscaloosa.

In late November, after being suspended by Alabama, the freshman defensive back decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

During his time in the portal, Nick Saban was asked about the defensive back during a press conference and offered up this comment:

“Scooby can have another opportunity to be on the team, and if he wants to start with the team next semester in school, we’ll give him another opportunity at that time — if he did okay in school,” Saban said. “We are trying to be supportive and help him to do the things that he needs to do to have a chance to be successful as a person, as a student-athlete and as a player. We will give him an opportunity to come back next semester if he wants to do that.”

Carter then decided to return to Alabama and withdrew from the portal. He soon issued a tweet featuring a photo of himself in an Alabama uniform with the caption: “Focus all 2020.”

That update came on Jan. 1, 2020, but less than two months later, Carter is back in the NCAA transfer portal. News of Carter’s latest jump into the portal was first reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Carter was a top 100 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Sounds like someone was a big Scott Cochran fan.
