Since coming to Knoxville from Uruguay, Tennessee freshman PG Santiago Vescovi has become a key player for the Vols.

Unfortunately, his family hasn’t been able to see him play in person yet, as it’s quite a long distance from Montevideo to Knoxville.

Well, ahead of Saturday’s game against Florida, the Tennessee Twitter account captured a surprise for Vescovi. As you can see in the video below, Tennessee arranged for Vescovi’s family to surprise him on the court during shootaround:

Now, the Vescovi family will get to see Santiago play in person against the red-hot Gators, and they’ll probably like what they see.

Vescovi is averaging 11 points, 3.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. He’s played in (and started) 16 games for the Vols.
