Jordan Ta’amu is making Ole Miss proud in the XFL.

The former Rebel starting quarterback is making the most out of his opportunity in the new start-up spring league and was recently named Week 4 Star of the Week following his outstanding performance in the St. Louis BattleHawks’ 23-16 win over the Seattle Dragons.

Ta’amu finished the game completing 20 of 27 passes for 264 yards and a passing touchdown, the former Rebel also added 63 rushing yards in the contest.

His Week 4 performance was just the latest in a series of solid performances for the BattleHawks this season as Ta’amu looks to be in the running for league MVP honors after the first month of the debut XFL season.

These results likely aren’t surprising to Ole Miss fans as Ta’amu was a force in Oxford during his senior season back in 2018. In his only season as the full-time starting quarterback for the Rebels — Ta’amu did replace an injured Shea Patterson in the starting lineup at the end of the 2017 season — Ta’amu completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 3,918 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions for the Rebels. He also added another 342 yards on the ground and six rushing touchdowns that season for Ole Miss.

He finished his Ole Miss career with 5,600 passing yards and a 30-12 touchdown to interception ratio.
