All the Charles Barkley fans out there can breathe easy, the “Round Mound of Rebound” does not have the coronavirus.

The Auburn legend and NBA Hall of Famer shared that news on Monday. Barkley was tested following the NBA’s decision to suspend its season and after he came down with an illness shortly thereafter.

Now with his negative test results in hand, Turner Sports has issued the following statement from Barkley:

“I’ve received by COVID-19 test results this morning and they are negative. I’d like to thank everyone for reaching out and expressing your concern and support. You all be safe and please take the necessary actions to help ensure your well-being.”

This is obviously great news following the latest health scare from a beloved sports icon following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Unfortunately for us all, this is the time of the year college basketball fans are supposed to be ripping Barkley for not knowing enough about their college team playing in the NCAA Tournament, not worried about the analyst’s health.

If nothing else, at this time next year, perhaps we’ll all have a deeper appreciation for the joy of March Madness and Barkley’s analysis of the tournament during Turner Sports coverage.
