The Bulldogs just landed commitment No. 4 of the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The latest win for Kirby Smart’s program on the recruiting trail is a big one as Douglasville, Ga., native Jonathan Jefferson announced his decision to attend Georgia on Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Douglas County High School standout is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 11 strongside defensive end in the nation and the No. 143 overall recruit for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Georgia assistant Tray Scott serves as Jefferson’s primary recruiter for Georgia.

Jefferson is currently rated as the top defensive lineman from the state of Georgia.

It may interest UGA fans to know Jefferson’s most recent recruiting visit came during a trip down to Gainesville, but once again, Dan Mullen and his Florida program seem to really struggle to land elite prospects that Kirby Smart and Georgia are also after on the recruiting trail.

Jefferson joins a small but talented group of recruits committed to play college football in Athens as the Bulldogs hold a commitment from five-star quarterback Brock Vandagriff, four-star athlete David Daniel and three-star defensive linemen Marlin Dean.

All four of Georgia’s commits are in-state pledges.
