Despite consistently having all the pieces necessary to build an elite offense in Baton Rouge, it took LSU a long time to find a quarterback capable of leading the program to new heights on that side of the ball.

Now with Joe Burrow off to the NFL and likely on his way to becoming the No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, LSU fans have to be wondering how long it will be before they have another standout signal-caller after seeing Burrow win the 2019 Heisman Trophy and lead the Tigers to the national championship.

If Burrow is to be believed, LSU already has that player on its roster in Myles Brennan.

During a recent appearance on “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” Burrow was asked to share his thoughts on Brennan.

“He can really spin it,” Burrow said on the show. “He was getting some time the year before I got there, splitting time with Danny Elting. He’s going to be a really good player. He’s a smart dude, can spin it. I’m excited to see what he can do this year.”

Brennan isn’t a complete unknown, as he’s attempted 70 passes for LSU in three years (which includes one redshirt season in which he threw just six passes) of action. Considering he has a 60 percent completion percentage and passed for 353 yards in last year’s offense, Brennan should be comfortable enough in the offense to be ready to go come Week 1 of the season.

Even Burrow thinks so based on his recent comments.
