The 2020 NFL Draft came and went without Florida LB David Reese II hearing his name called. Other Gators were picked, but Reese had to wait until the undrafted free agent scramble immediately after Round 7.

Fortunately for him, though, he found an NFL home, and it’s an interesting one where he’ll have a chance to make an immediate impact.

Per the Florida Twitter page, Reese has signed with the Carolina Panthers — a team that is completely rebuilding its defense:

In his Florida career, Reese recorded 324 tackles (19.5 for a loss) and 3.5 sacks. He had 1 interception and recovered 2 fumbles, as well.

The Panthers lost both Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis to retirement this offseason, so they have a big need at the position. We’ll see if Reese can land a Week 1 roster spot.
