The Minnesota Vikings picked LSU WR Justin Jefferson with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Jefferson was fresh off an incredible season with LSU, winning a national title and catching 18 touchdown passes from Heisman-winning QB Joe Burrow.

On ESPN’s NFL Live on Friday, Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer shared his thoughts on what made Jefferson such an attractive pick (via 247Sports):

“I think his ability to go up and get the football,” Zimmer said. “(When) he was in contested catches, he was one of the best in the country. He was able to line up in all the different positions on the offense and run all kinds of different routes. So he looked like a professional right from there start, but his acceleration, the way he (moved) — even liked his touchdown dances.”

The Vikings lost Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills this offseason, so there will be opportunities for Jefferson to contribute right away.

How will he fare as a rookie? Hopefully the 2020 season starts as scheduled so we can find out this fall!
