Pat Dye’s family is asking for everyone’s thoughts and prayers as the legendary Auburn coach has been hospitalized recently due to a serious medical condition.

According to CBS 42 in Birmingham, Dye’s family has confirmed that the former Auburn coach is in the hospital due to kidney issues. Dye has also been tested positive for the coronavirus but is asymptomatic to the virus.

“We learn from a family member that Dye is battling ongoing kidney issues and have previously tested positive for COVID-19,” Sherri Jackson of CBS 42 shared on Wednesday night. “She said he’s asymptomatic for COVID in an Opelika-area hospital but the ongoing kidney issues are a problem right now.”

Dye coached at Auburn from 1981 until 1992, leading the Tigers to a 99-39-4 record during that time, including a 6-2-1 bowl record.
