Report: Alabama men's basketball adds tough AAC squad to nonconference schedule
The Alabama Crimson Tide showed some flashes of brilliance under first-year head coach Nate Oats last season.
However, heading into Year 2, the Tide have some work to do, and might have to do it without star PG Kira Lewis Jr. and potentially talented shooter John Petty Jr.
But, as they enter the 2020-21 season, the Tide will have a chance to pick up a strong nonconference win, according to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein. Per Rothstein, the Tide have added a home-and-home series against Kelvin Sampson’s Houston Cougars to their schedule:
Sources: Houston and Alabama will start a home-and-home series next season in Tuscaloosa. Return game in Houston in 21-22.

The first game will take place in Tuscaloosa this coming season, with Alabama making the trip back to Houston during the 2021-22 campaign.
Houston finished this past season with a 23-8 record, tied for first in the American Athletic Conference.
