If Nick Saban likes you, don’t be shocked if he drops a surprising “deez nuts” joke on you from time to time.

That’s the way his players tell it, anyway.

This time last year, former Alabama running back and current Las Vegas Raiders star Josh Jacobs was the first one to share just how much Saban loves telling “deez nuts” jokes during an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” back in 2019.

Here is a clip of Jones sharing the story if you missed it.

During an interview with Tua Tagovailoa, Patrick asked if the quarterback could confirm Saban’s affinity for these types of jokes.

According to the record-breaking Alabama quarterback, the rumors are true, Saban is a fan of “deez nuts” jokes.

Well, finally, Patrick went straight to the source during the Wednesday edition of his show.

Here is what Saban had to say when asked about Jacobs’ story.

“Well, I like to have fun with the players. I think it’s probably good that they see you every now and then in a little bit different light,” Saban responded on the show. “Since I’m a defensive coach and I probably get on the defensive players a little bit more ferociously. It’s a little easier for me to be light-hearted with the offensive players.

“And, you know, there’s some guys on your team you just love, like Josh Jacobs, Tua, Henry Ruggs. We’ve had a lot of really good players on offense that have great personalities and great work ethic and you just love them – and those are the kind of guys I usually pick out, do all the teasing stuff.”

There you have it, Saban has confirmed he is a fan of “deez nuts” jokes.
