After Ja’Marr Chase announced he was opting out for the coming season, a graphic showing all the losses suffered by the Tigers this offseason went viral.

Of course, what that graphic didn’t reference was all the additions the Tigers made this offseason, the players already on the roster ready to step up this fall, as well as the new hires made by Ed Orgeron this offseason.

So what does Coach O have to say about all the doubters questioning whether or not LSU will have another great season?

Doubt us at your own risk.

“Yeah, I think that there’s going be a natural tendency for them to predict us not having the success that we would have if we had a lot of guys coming back,” Orgeron said during his Tuesday media availability. “But as you know, that doesn’t bother us. I think we have a great team, we’re gonna use that as an advantage. We’ve been picked high, we’ve been picked low and none of them usually pan out.”

The way Orgeron sees it, no one picked LSU to win the national championship last season and we all know what happened during the team’s epic run to the title.

This team has plenty of pieces to make another run at an SEC title, you just may not know the players’ names at this point.

“This time last year, no one picked us to go 15-0 and have a great season. So again, we have got to block out the noise,” Orgeron added. “But you know, I think that those guys have legitimate reasons to say, ‘Hey listen, they lost this, they lost that, new quarterback.’ I can understand where they may pick us not to have the success that we think we’ll have. But I think we are underestimated because they don’t know the young talent that we have, they don’t have new coaches that we have.

“But again, we have to go down and prove it, week in and week out. 10 SEC games man, buckle up, it’s gonna be fun.”
