Things don’t appear to be trending in the right direction in College Station since fall camp opened a few weeks ago.

During camp, the Aggies have lost receiver Camron Buckley and freshmen tight ends Baylor Cupp and Blake Smith all to season-ending injuries in addition to opt-outs from defensive backs Elijah Blades and Derrick Tucker.

Now it appears senior receiver, and Kellen Mond’s No. 1 target, Jhamon Ausbon may have some doubts regarding the upcoming season.

During his Thursday press conference, Jimbo Fisher was asked about Ausbon missing practice and the Texas A&M coach indicated the senior needed time away from the team.

Fisher did make it clear that no other Aggies have opted out for the season as of this time.

“We haven’t had guys opt-out,” Fisher noted.

“He’s still with our team. Sometimes these guys take time to reflect on different things. Aus is still with our team and on our roster,” Fisher said of Ausbon.

Last season, Ausbon started all 13 games for Texas A&M. He made 66 catches for 872 yards with five receiving touchdowns in 2019 and was a team captain all season during his junior campaign.
