Tennessee’s depth at running back has taken a hit heading into the season as senior running back Carlin Fils-aime will not be playing this season, according to Jeremy Pruitt.

A redshirt senior, Fils-aime appeared in three games last season for the Volunteers.

Here is what Pruitt had to say about the running back during his first press conference to open South Carolina week.

“Carlin Fils-aime graduated over the summer and he’s sitting out this year,” Pruitt shared. “He could possibly come back in January but we’ve yet to decide that yet. When that time comes, we’ll get together and decide that.

“But he’s a guy that’s done everything we’ve asked of him as a player since I’ve been here. Unfortunately, he’s had some injuries that’s kept him off the field but he’s been a great student, role model, good teammate and we would love to have him back, for sure.”

The Naples, Fla., native signed with Tennessee as a member of the 2016 recruiting class. He was rated as a four-star prospect that cycle.
