As the 2020 SEC season kicks off, many think the SEC East is a 2-team race between the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs.

However, teams like Kentucky and Tennessee are also ranked in the top 25. Could either of them make some noise and pull off some upsets?

On Friday, SEC Network analyst Chris Doering explained why he thinks Kentucky is a dark horse candidate to win the East:

“I have them as my dark horse team in the East,” Doering says. “I don’t necessarily know if they’ll be able to do it this year, but they’ll have the opportunities, right? They get to play Florida and Georgia in the East every year and they get a chance with the big boys in the West with Auburn and Alabama. If there’s one thing coach (Mark) Stoops talked about, it’s expanded capacity. If you want to be talked about as the best and in the upper echelon of the SEC, then you’d better go out and win a couple of games like you have the chance to do on Saturday.”

Can the Wildcats pull off the upset against Auburn on Saturday afternoon? They’re a popular pick to win. Tune in to the SEC Network at noon Eastern time to find out.
