The LSU Tigers definitely missed star CB Derek Stingley Jr. on Saturday afternoon against Mississippi State.

In the Tigers’ 44-34 loss to the Bulldogs, they gave up 623 passing yards and 5 touchdowns to QB KJ Costello. Stingley would have helped stop some of that.

However, the talented defender missed the game after he had a medical episode and had to be admitted to the hospital. Fortunately, on Sunday morning, Stingley’s father — Derek Stingley Sr. — said Derek Jr. is doing well and has been discharged from the hospital:

If all goes well, it sounds like Stingley could soon return to the field for the Tigers. He was expected to play on Saturday before the hospitalization, so if he is indeed able to recover from the medical episode quickly, he could be back on the field this weekend possibly.

For now, though, the important thing is that the young defender is healthy and doing better after a scare on Saturday.
