What LSU coach Ed Orgeron said about Tigers' disheartening loss at Mizzou
The LSU Tigers are now 1-2 after falling at Mizzou 45-41 on Saturday afternoon. The game was moved from Baton Rouge due to Hurricane Delta.
It was a back-and-forth offensive shootout, with both teams marching down the field at-will. But, a late stand from the Mizzou defense stymied LSU’s last chance to win the game.
After the loss, LSU coach Ed Orgeron spoke with the media. Here’s what he had to say about the disappointing game:
On coming up short on late goal-line stand by Mizzou:
Ed Orgeron on not being able to score on the goal line: “We have to look at the scheme. But we’ve got to get it in. We’re LSU, we should be able to score on the 1-yard line.” #LSU

Ed Orgeron's asked after three games his confidence in the Bo Pelini hire: "I love Bo. I think Bo's going to be a great defensive coordinator, but we have to get better." #LSU

Ed Orgeron on the defense: "It was embarrassing, whatever it is, we've got to get it fixed." #LSU

On going 0-for-10 on third downs:
Ed Orgeron's asked about 0-for-10 on third down, if there was a common issue: "Pressure… guys missing play. Scheme needs to be better. I think it's a combination of everything." #LSU
