Tennessee held a 21-17 halftime lead on Saturday afternoon against No. 3 Georgia. But, after the break, things changed drastically.

The Bulldogs outscored the Vols 27-0 in the third and fourth quarters, cruising to an easy 44-21 victory over their SEC East rivals.

After the game, Tennessee QB Jarrett Guarantano was taking the loss hard. He said he wished he could do it all over again (via 247Sports):

“I’m sick to my stomach,” he said after the game. “This was one of my last opportunities versus Georgia and I couldn’t get the job done with the win. I wish I could get this one back and change some things, but the game’s over.”

About the Bulldogs’ vaunted defense, Guarantano said they’e probably the best defense in the country:

“I thought they had a good pass defense,” Guarantano said. “I didn’t think their rush defense was as good as they just played today, but everybody knows how good Georgia’s defense is. That’s not a surprise. Every single person in the country that watches college football knows that they probably have the best defense in college football. We knew that, too, and we knew that we had to execute and we had to go into every single play and get the job done. We stumbled a couple of times, and that’s the reason for the loss.”

The Vols will have to try to regroup against Kentucky next weekend. We’ll see if Guarantano and his teammates can put together a full 4-quarter effort in that game.
