On Thursday, Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Mark Melancon joked that he and Georgia assistant football coach Scott Cochran would be dressing as each other for Halloween. The two look fairly similar and are both well known by sports fans around Georgia.

Well, now there’s visual evidence that Melancon wasn’t just kidding. He was serious.

On Friday, Cochran tweeted a picture of himself dressed in his Melancon costume ahead of next week’s holiday:

Cochran is in his first year on Georgia’s staff as the special teams coordinator under head coach Kirby Smart. Cochran previously served as Alabama’s head strength and conditioning coach from 2007-19.

Melancon, a 12-year MLB veteran, has spent the past two seasons with the Braves, but he’s set to become a free agent this offseason. So, if this was his last year in Atlanta, it’s a good thing he’ll get to do his Halloween impersonation of Cochran while the two are in the same state.

In his original tweet, Melancon said he and Cochran would both be dressing as professional wrestler/former UFC fighter Brock Lesnar next year. Now, that would be a photo to see.
