Ole Miss released some good news on the condition of tight end Damarcus Thomas on Monday evening.

On Monday afternoon, Thomas sustained a scary injury following a hit during a practice session and lay motionless on the field for several moments without feeling in his extremities. Fortunately, he gradually regained movement and feeling but was then airlifted to a local hospital for further testing.

According to Pat Jernigan, the university’s assistant athletic director for sports medicine, Thomas is set to be discharged from the hospital after all tests came back negative.

It’s certainly great news for Thomas and his family, as the injury was originally described as “potentially paralyzing” by head coach Lane Kiffin. Fortunately, Thomas appears to be in the clear and on the road to a full and complete recovery.
