While there’s hope that Kyle Pitts could play this weekend against Arkansas, it appears there’s roughly a 50-50 chance Florida’s outstanding tight end plays against the Razorbacks.

Pitts left Florida’s 44-28 win over Georgia after taking a massive shot to the head on a downfield play on Saturday. The Bulldog defensive back that hit Pitts, Lewis Cine, was ejected from the game for targeting.

During a Monday morning appearance on the SEC Network, Dan Mullen provided the latest update on the tight end’s status for Saturday’s matchup against Arkansas.

“He had a concussion in the game and so he’s questionable this week,” Mullen said on Monday morning. “The reason I say that is it’s not easy, you know, when you have an ankle sprain you know when you are going to be back. Which a certain injury, you have a (recovery) timeframe.

“When you are dealing with a concussion, it’s going to be a totally different timeframe. I think he’ll be questionable for us this week. We’ll see how he progresses as the week goes on.”

So far this season, Pitts has 24 catches for 414 yards and eight touchdowns for the Gators.

He’s been an unstoppable force in Mullen’s offense and his availability will be something to monitor all week long as there may not be another player in the nation that is as dynamic as Florida’s soon-to-be All-American tight end.
