Sure, Mac Jones makes impressive throws all the time. He’s passed for 3,113 yards and 27 touchdowns as Alabama’s starting quarterback this season. But the real question is — have you noticed how effective he’s been as the team’s holder?

That’s right. Jones isn’t just a quarterback and Heisman Trophy front-runner, but he serves as the Crimson Tide’s holder on field-goal attempts. And based on the feedback from his teammates and the Alabama staff, there’s nobody better at it.

So, there’s currently one thing on Jones’ mind — the Peter Mortell Holder of the Year Award.

OK, well maybe that’s not actually true. Perhaps that’s an award known for the recipient releasing a comedic acceptance video. Fittingly enough, Alabama released a hilarious hype video on Thursday pushing for Jones to win Holder of the Year, which surely won’t be the only honor he receives consideration for this year:

So, there you have it. Jones is the most deserving candidate to be the Holder of the Year. Oh, and sure, maybe he’ll just go and win that Heisman award, too.

Jones and the Crimson Tide are set to take on Arkansas at noon ET on Saturday on ESPN. Then, they’ll face Florida in the SEC Championship Game at 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 19 on CBS.
