Just 1 day before the Early Signing Period is to begin, a former Mississippi State commit who flipped to Ole Miss on Dec. 9 has now apparently had his offer pulled and will not sign with the Rebels after all.

On Tuesday evening, Makylan Pounders, an in-state offensive lineman, announced on his Twitter account that he was “no longer committed to Ole Miss”.

Pounders had originally pledged to Mike Leach and Mississippi State in April and remained a commit to the program up until last week. That was when he re-opened his recruitment, only to pledge to the Rebels.

However, on the eve of the Early Signing Period, he reported that he was no longer committed to the program, telling 247Sports that he was told “(the Rebels) were full”.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder is a 3-star recruit according to 247Sports, and the No. 54 offensive guard in the class of 2021. He is also the No. 15 ranked player in Mississippi.

It will be interesting to see where Pounders ends up next, but to have this happen to him the night before the signing period begins is puzzling, to say the least.
